One Plus Two Rumored (Leaked)

We’re not expecting the OnePlusTwo to hit the market anytime soon, but that didn’t stop one Chinese phone-seller from listing the device for pre-order. GeekBuying recently offered up a list of specs, pricing and even an alleged image of the OnePlus Two, though it’s unclear where the site is getting its information.

The image you see above probably isn’t the real OnePlus Two, it looks too much like a rough render, but let’s take it at face value. From a design perspective this phone is beautiful. The bezels around its 5.5-inch screen are almost completely gone, save for a thin strip at the top and bottom for a set of front-facing speakers. One red flag is those ridiculous capacitive buttons, which look totally fake and way too small to use.

From a hardware perspective, the new OnePlus smartphone will apparently offer the same 5.5-inch 1080p display, along with a Snapdragon 805 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 3300mAh battery, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It allegedly runs Android 4.4 with Oppo’s Color OS on top, instead of CyanogenMod, which actually lines up with rumors that Cyanogen won’t have a hand in the One’s successor.

That brings up another reason why we think the image you see above could be a fake. Notice that Cyanogen logo on the back? If this runs Color OS, that logo certainly has no reason to exist – unless the Color OS version is only sold in some markets and we’re looking at a possible Cyanogen model.

Overall, those specs are pretty similar to what we’ve heard in earlier leaks. Rumor has it the OnePlus Two could also introduce a significant price jump compared to the original one, and GeekBuying lists the device for pre-order at $538.19 (up from $349 for the 64GB OnePlus One). Hopefully the new phone won’t cost quite that much when it actually launches, though we’re not expecting an official unveiling until late in 2015.
