Earlier this year at Mobile World Congress, there were rumours that Asus was gearing up to launch a new smartwatch dubbed Asus VivoWatch. According to a report by Engadget, the company is most likely to debut the watch at Milan Design Week. But unlike previous wearable models by Asus such as the Asus ZenWatch, the VivoWatch is said to be a device that’s more focused on health and fitness.
In terms of design, the smartwatch sports a stainless steel body, an IP67 dust and water rating along with a heart-rate monitoring sensor and the ability to track sleep too.
The device will most likely not run on Android Wear and could sport its own operating system. It will feature a black and white display, which will help conserve battery. The main USP for the Asus VivoWatch is its battery life. Asus promises stable battery life for a good 10 days on the new wearable.
There is no word on pricing or availability yet but more details will surface when the company showcases the new VivoWatch at its Zensation event, which will be running from the 14th to 19th of April in Milan.
