Google releases update for Chrome on iOS; brings new features

Google released a significant update on Chrome for iOS users with several new features to improve compatibility with iOS 8 focusing on the latest iPhone 6. The new update brings in some design changes along with extensions and more apps.
For starters, the updated Google Chrome for iOS (version 42) introduces a new Notification Center widget which brings in controls which lets users launch a new tab or launch a voice search directly from the ‘Today’ view of the Notification Center.

A report by MacRumours pointed out that there is no comparable Safari widget for quick launching searches and hence, the new Chrome widget “gives it a bit of a leg up over Apple’s built-in browser”. However, Safari users can use Siri for quick searches.

The updated app will now also support Password Managers (like 1Password and LastPass) which will allow users to easily fill in passwords when required. In other features, the app will itself provide answers in the suggestions drop down menu for example, when a user searches for the weather of a particular city, it will display it in the drop-down menu.
